Together with Salzgitter Flachstahl we offer you an extremely wide range of products and services. Salzgitter Flachstahl is the largest steel subsidiary in the Salzgitter Group and it has a worldwide reputation for its technologically advanced products. In 2017 more than 5,587 employees produced about 4.5 million tons of crude steel and generated a turnover of € 2.65 billion.
Salzgitter Flachstahl is very innovative in the development of new materials that have been optimised for the particular application. If necessary, we can call upon the extensive know-how of experienced materials and applications engineers at any time in order to find exactly the right solution for your needs.
The most important customers for our flat-rolled products are vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers, manufacturers of both standard and large-diameter tubes, cold rollers and the construction industry. We produce hot-rolled strip, hot rolled sheets, cold-rolled sheet, and surface-finished products ranging in thickness from 0.4 to 25 mm and up to a maximum width of 2,000 mm, in an integrated iron and steel works. The production programme includes drawn, deep-drawn and special deep-drawn steels, structural and fine-grained steels, as well as high and ultra-high strength steels.

Intensive research and development cooperation with Salzgitter Mannesmann Forschung GmbH and experts from industry and science make us a dependable partner for long-term planning and cooperation.
Salzgitter Flachstahl manufactures steel products that are optimised for their particular application. For example, we develop higher-strength isotropic thin sheets with very good forming and processing properties for the automotive industry. Their higher strengths enable the manufacture of components with lower sheet thickness which nevertheless have the required crash properties. Innovations, such as the PRETEX® method, a new surface-texturing method, deliver improvements in processing properties both during forming and coating.
Our technical customer support and Salzgitter Mannesmann Forschung are available to help with any problems. It is therefore possible to develop target-orientated solutions for product and process optimisation in cooperation with users and customers. This close cooperation guarantees customer-orientated and application-related product development.
